Peek a Boo Blanket – Free Crochet Pattern

Hey loves! What a pleasure to meet you here. Another week and a new month starting and we are ready to make this incredible period. Here at Dream Crochet you will find different crafts and patterns, to inspire you to continue making beautiful pieces or start a new technique. Thinking of crocheting some more? Today’s pattern is for you, the Peek a Boo Blanket.

This blanket is amazing, made with different stitches, you have several textures in the same pattern. It’s that perfect blanket for you to snuggle in on a cooler day, while watching a movie, reading a book, having a coffee. And the aesthetics of the blanket are quite different, you can see braids in the length of the blanket, bringing one more charming detail. The fringes are part of the original pattern design.

It was a way that the designer found to disguise the vertical edges of the blanket, which were not very straight. But in craftsmanship we can customize the piece, add and remove details that you don’t like. So if you have another idea, you like the final design or you don’t like fringes, choose the ending that you like the most and crochet. As for materials, in crochet, the most important thing is yarn.

Peek a Boo Blantek Materials

You need quality material to have a quality blanket. Prefer a thicker, warmer blanket, choose yarns that are for this type of garment. We have separated the list proposed in the pattern and left it for you below.

  • Size 6 Yarn (I used 6-7 skeins Bernat Blanket in Country Blue, 10.5 oz);
  • USQ/ 15.75 mm Crochet Hook;
  • Yarn Needle;
  • Scissors.

Once again we remind you that the gauge depends a lot on who is crocheting. “My gauge is very tight. You may need to go down a hook size or two if you crochet more loosely” Esther said. So if you crochet more loosely, you can either go down a hook size or two, or, if you like the drape of the fabric at the larger hook size, you can just adjust the number of stitches and rows.

As for the size of the blanket, you can easily adjust it. If you want to decrease or increase the width of the blanket, just decrease or increase the number of stitches in your beginning chain or foundation row. Shall we crochet?
